Hello, I'm Mairead 👋
My name is Mairead and sometimes Mai. I’m a full-stack software developer currently based in Virginia. Outside of work, I enjoy biking, running, and finding different ways to hang out outside.
I made the version of the website you’re looking at because, even in this new age of AI-assisted development, I did not want to perform a three-major-version upgrade on the long-neglected Gatsby version of this website. Eight+ years of professional development experience have taught me a lot of things, including that this would not be the most fun use of my time.
I have, however, gotten pretty good at the kinds of projects people tend to put off: painful migrations, modernizing old systems, untangling complicated infrastructure, and generally making things work better than I found them. I also have a lot of experience leading teams and delivering complex new projects from idea to production.
So if you want to pay me to do a painful migration, I will do a great job. If you’d rather build something new for me to migrate at some point in the future, I’d love to help with that too.
